I think the servers/waitstaff should be paid at least minimum wage, more depending on experience and merit. I know, I know, the argument for paying at least minimum wage is then that prices for eating out will go up. Well, if they do, people will still eat out and restaurants will still make their money.

It was such a hectic week that we didn’t get to exercise but once or twice and that coupled with some heavy meals didn’t help. But, that’s okay, it’s not the end of the world. Plus, with all I ate and how little I exercised, I consider an almost 2 pound gain negligible.

Penny auctions such as Beezid, Swoopo, Bidray, Pardoo, Nab-n-Grab, etc. are becoming more prevalent thanks to Beezid’s television ads. When you visit these penny auction sites, you will see high dollar items going for just pennies on the dollar. Sounds like a great way to get a great bargain, and it actually can be, but at what price?

Apparently, Telly the Whale was fed up with living in captivity and entertaining people in exchange for a few fish. At SeaWorld in Orlando, a trainer was killed by Telly the Whale in what is at this time being called an accident.

Now, there is another source of news and entertainment for Muskogee – Leif Wright’s MuskogeeNOW. It has only been up and running for just a few weeks now and, to tell the truth, I had a few doubts at first. But, I subscribed my RSS reader to his site and am very happy to notice more content coming online every day and am now positive this enterprise is going to grow and thrive.

I’ve installed many applications in my career as an IT professional and most of the problems can be resolved by RTFM (Reading The F(rea)king Manual). But, when you are either dealing with documentation from another country, or your documentation is being used in another country, you need to be careful. I’ve found that German documentation is the worst.

Another week down, and more pounds down the drain. I lost 3.1 pounds over last Friday, so it appears I am past the first plateau. Now, if you remember I didn’t really lose any weight during week 4, but I noticed that I did lose inches. This is sort of a trap that quite a few weight-loss-seekers fall into. They see that they have stopped losing weight so quickly and level out for a bit, but they fail to notice the inches they are losing.

The Lower Merion School District in Pennsylvania issued laptops to students complete with webcams. Then, according to this article from BoingBoing, remotely activated the webcams and spied on students and families.

There are a lot of articles on the internet that supposedly tell you how to copy Wii games, but the articles I found were woefully inadequate. What they don’t tell you is what hardware you need, what modifications you need to make to your Wii software, how to not brick your Wii, and the pros and cons of doing this. After ordering a few products and being disappointed, I finally found a guide that spells it out in detail and points you to the hardware you need and the free software to help you get it done.

I seem to have hit my first plateau, which I entirely expected, so I’ve sort of bounced around the same weight I was at last week. But, I fully expect it to start dropping again.This is where most people get discouraged and figure if they aren’t continuing to lose weight, why continue.
