Finally, some common sense out of California. The California Medical Board is formally accusing Octomom’s doctor, Michael Kamrava, of negligence and violation of professional guidelines. This is something most of the country, if not the world, has been saying since Nadya Suleman’s huge tummy debuted in the news.
From the New York Times:
The state licensing body said Monday that Beverly Hills fertility doctor Michael Kamrava acted ”beyond the reasonable judgment of any treating physician” by repeatedly providing fertility treatment to a woman identified in the complaint only by the initials ”N.S.”
Suleman has previously identified Kamrava as her doctor. The document says his patient became pregnant with octuplets. Suleman gave birth to the world’s longest-living set of octuplets on Jan. 26, 2009. She already had six other children.
Of course, she is as much a part of this as the doctor, but the doctor was negligent in his care of his patient. By implanting so many embryos and her carrying them to term, he may have injured her more.
