After watching and reading about three people dying and several others hospitalized from sitting in a make-shift sweat lodge in Arizona, I was amazed that people so blindly followed the leader. Thoughts of Jonestown in Guyana came from the recesses of my mind and how over 900 people died from apparent mass suicide by cyanide because they blindly followed the leader.
Then I learned that these people paid this guy amounts on the order of about nine grand each. Wow! Apparently, they had money to burn, but I must question their sense. Didn’t anyone think that all this heat may be bad for them and they should leave? Aside from the possible threat of the leader calling them a few names, I don’t think he physically restrained them.
So, I’m thinking of renting out a bedroom in my house for $9,000 for a week and you don’t have to sweat or listen to me talk.
