New series: How to make your wife feel loved

chem20loveI have been married to my high school sweetheart for 24 years.  I will even say I’ve been happily married for 24 years.  Sure, there have been ups and downs as in any relationship, but the ups have certainly outweighed the downs.  After we got through the first few years of trying to eradicate the other’s faults, and realized that their faults are part of what endeared the other to us, we saw our relationship soar.  In fact, over the past several years, I’ve tried to do things to make my wife feel special – to feel loved.

It is very easy to get comfortable in a relationship and forget to court your wife.  All the things you did while you were dating were to show her how much you cared, how much you loved her, and to make her feel special.  As a relationship grows, though, it is easy to take her for granted.  Sure, you know you love her and, deep down, she knows you love her.  But, it is nice to have that reassurance every now and then.

Through this series, I am going to tell what I do to make my wife feel special, to feel loved, and you can use it if you want, or not.  That’s up to you.  Some things that my wife likes, yours may not.  But, I implore you to find the things that make your wife feel special and do those on a regular basis.  For example, anytime my wife calls me and I know it’s her, I answer the phone, “Hello, gorgeous.”  It’s a simple thing, but she likes it, and I mean it.  Try that and see what sort of reaction you get.  After the initial shock, I’m sure it will be a big hit.

Stay tuned for more.
