Another Monday, they come faster now.
I look in the mirror, my life half gone.
I wonder what in my past will show
My future sons what I have done.
My past is a blur, my future a mystery
Like the prize hidden by a curtain.
I’ve come so far, but where will I be?
I know that life is so uncertain.
The months and years now seem to roll
like a down hill boulder gaining speed.
The years they really take their toll.
What do I want, what do I need?
Sometimes I feel life racing past
With nothing more to show
Than one more day I did outlast.
How many more? I do not know.
Tomorrow’s a hope, yesterday is gone,
And neither can I now control.
But today beginning at the dawn,
Living fullest life is my goal.
Together many dreams we’ve lived and
Many more will come true.
The hourglass with its falling sand
Doesn’t scare me when I’m with you.
With you, my darling, I need not fear,
The rapid changing of the date.
For God is wise, I know, my dear,
He allowed me to wed my soul-mate.
