There are many articles on this subject, so I thought I would toss my 2-cents worth in the ring. You go out to a nice restaurant and leave your car with the valet. You tip the valet. As you enter the restaurant, the doorman opens the door for you. You tip the doorman. The Maitre d’ doesn’t quite know how to fit you in since you have no reservations. A little tip to him and suddenly a table opens up. A little larger tip and there’s a table with a view. The waiter/waitress serves you, keeps your drinks full and fulfills your every request. You tip the waiter/waitress. But, when should you tip and when should you not tip? [...]

We tend to take our blessings for granted. It’s easy to just assume the house and the job and the groceries will always be there and therefore we forget they are really blessings from God and not just something that “happens”. Every day of life is a gift. [...] According to this article on Forbes.com, the iPhone has an SMS bug that will allow complete control over your iPhone with a simple one-character text message. The article states that this bug has been reported to Apple, but Apple hasn’t patched it, yet. [...] So, what do you do with a 7-year-old who loves to read and loves to visit the library? Of course, you ban him from the library. [...] An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. [...] They railroaded the City. According to the Muskogee Daily Phoenix article, the veterans threatened city councilors if they did not vote for flying the POW/MIA flag at the Muskogee Civic Center, they would campaign against them in the next election. They even got the City Council to agree to pay for it to the tune of $10,000 – $12,000. [...] There’s been a virus warning popping up on computers and it’s had several different faces, but one common theme. It has been known as Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2009, Spyware Protect 2009, and Antivirus System Pro and is now rearing its ugly head as Windows Security Suite. This is a rogue anti-spayware program that is advertised and installed through the use of malware. This software generally is installed by tricking the user into installing it. It was created by the same people who released Spyware Protect 2009 and Antivirus System Pro. Of course, he is not alone as I would venture to say that all of us have been guilty of that at one time or another. Muskogee elected a 19-year-old mayor in the hopes he would bring new and bright ideas to Muskogee. America elected their first African-American president on the hopes that the same old B.S. would not continue. People want change and they’ve made their message loud and clear. However, people need to not take a change as a good thing simply because it is something different? [...] A council of 9 people help balance any inexperience of a mayor or council member with the experience of others. This is what is happening now. A bad city manager can be fired at any time, whereas a bad strong mayor is there until election time and can bankrupt a city before anyone could stop him. [...] President Obama wants the government to take over health care because they do everything else so well. [...] |
